I forgot to do my post yesterday!
School has been going okay, typical rocky first week stuff. I had a meeting with my Spanish professor and she said I don't sound like someone who hasn't practiced in a year and a half. I'm trying to get better about giving myself credit for things I'm good at, and I can admit that my accent is pretty solid and I'm good at circumlocution, which is half the battle. My other classes are kind of dense and dull, but I'll get through them okay.
I got a really quiet work week last week, which I needed pretty badly. This week is shaping up to be crazier, unfortunately. I'm taking some time off next week to go to my best friend's wedding, which I'm looking forward to, but also kind of stressed about. It's a big gathering and my house is really COVID cautious. But it'll be nice to visit my home state for a couple of days and eat some foods I missed. Plus, my dad will be in town for a training, so we're going to grab coffee. I haven't seen him in person in four years, so I'm looking forward to that. And, realistically, I'm looking forward to the wedding, it's just stressful. Lots of travel and a lot of people.
I also have an appointment to talk about ADHD medication on Friday, since I finally got a diagnosis. Nervous as hell about that. I'm really apprehensive about medications in general, and I know it's going to be kind of a process to find what works for me, so it's just more stress.
In more fun news, tomorrow is my beautiful wife's birthday, and I took the whole day off to spend with her. I'm really excited about it, we're going to get lunch and go shopping for fun stuff. Plus I got her some gifties already that I think she's going to like.
After that, though, I'm really looking forward to getting some sleep in, like, December.
